Step 1: Visit the Vodafone Activation Page
Open a web browser and navigate to your local Vodafone activation page:

- Ireland: https://n.vodafone.ie/support/welcome.html
Step 2: Select the Appropriate Activation Option
Choose the option that best matches your phone or plan:
- If you’re using a monthly plan or pay-as-you-go service, select the corresponding activation option.
- If your SIM is already activated but you’re switching phones, select “SIM Swap.”
Step 3: Follow the On-Screen Instructions
You will be prompted to provide your SIM number or Activation Key, found on the back of the SIM card or packaging. For example, the activation key might look like “U/V 09XXXXXXXX.”
Step 4: Provide Identification and Account Information
You may need to enter your phone number or account PIN, and present one of the following IDs:
- Driver’s license
- Health card
- Passport
Step 5: Submit Your Activation Request
After entering all the required information, submit your request. The activation process may take up to six hours.
Step 6: Start Using Your SIM
Once your SIM is activated, you’ll be able to send and receive calls and texts.
Method 2: Activate by Phone
Step 1: Prepare the Required Information
Have the following ready before activating your SIM:
- Your cell phone number
- The SIM card number (printed on the back)
- Your account PIN
Step 2: Dial the Local Vodafone SIM Activation Number
Use your phone to call the appropriate activation number:
- UK: 17298
- Australia: 1300-788-055
- Ireland: 1907
- India: 59059
Step 3: Follow the Instructions
A voice recording will guide you. Use your keypad to enter your account or identification information when prompted.
Step 4: Wait for Activation
Your SIM card will be activated within 2 to 24 hours after the request is processed.
Step 5: Start Using Your SIM
Once activated, you can begin sending texts and making calls.
Method 3: Activate In-Store
Step 1: Gather Necessary Documents
Bring your phone, SIM card, and at least one form of identification:
- Driver’s license
- Medicare card
- Passport
- Concession card
- Age-proof card
- Student ID (TAFE or university)

Use the Vodafone store locator for your country:

Step 3: Visit a Vodafone Store
Speak with a Vodafone representative. They will:
- Check that your SIM card is compatible with your phone
- Assist you with any technical issues if needed
Once verified, your SIM will be activated and ready for use.
