Approach 1: Activate Online via AT&T’s Website
Step 1: Visit the AT&T Activation Website
Go to https://www.att.com/activations/.
Step 2: Select “Activate your device”
On the website, click the option labeled “Activate your device.”
Step 3: Enter Your Wireless Number
Type in the wireless number associated with your AT&T account.
Step 4: Enter Your Billing Zip Code
Provide the zip code used for billing on your AT&T account.
Step 5: Click “Continue”
Press the “Continue” button. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with activation.
Step 6: Locate Your iPhone’s IMEI Number
Find the IMEI number on your iPhone. You can usually locate it:
- On the iPhone’s original packaging (look for “IMEI/MEID” on a white sticker).
- By dialing
*#06#on your phone. - Via the iPhone settings:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Select About to find the IMEI.
Step 7: Enter and Confirm Your IMEI Number
Input your IMEI number into the AT&T activation site when prompted. Ensure it matches the number linked to your AT&T account.
Step 8: Restart Your iPhone
Once you’ve completed the online prompts:
- Hold the Sleep/Wake button.
- Slide to power off.
- Wait about five minutes.
- Turn the phone back on by holding the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo appears.
Your iPhone should now be activated on the AT&T network.
If online activation fails, contact AT&T customer service or visit an AT&T store for assistance.
Technique 2: Activate by Calling AT&T
Step 1: Call 1-800-331-0500
Using a working phone, dial 1-800-331-0500 to reach AT&T’s customer service line.
Step 2: Respond to the Automated Prompt
When prompted, say clearly: “I would like to activate my iPhone.”
Step 3: Provide Your AT&T Account Number
When asked “what number are you calling to activate?” speak your AT&T phone number clearly. This helps the system access your account.
Step 4: Verify the Phone Number
The system will repeat the number back to you. Confirm by answering “Yes” or “No.”
Step 5: Speak with a Representative
After verifying your information, you’ll be connected to an AT&T representative who will assist you with completing the activation process.
By following either of these methods, your iPhone should be successfully activated on the AT&T network.
